Celtic will ‘almost certainly’ lose two ‘quality’ first-team players this summer – podcaster

Celtic’s transfer business is set to come under the spotlight this coming summer.

With Brendan Rodgers bemoaning the lack of quality available to him this summer despite spending upwards of £20m, the fans will be keeping a close eye on him and the board and what they do to strengthen this Celtic team.

However, Celtic have been told that they might need more than four players this summer as Matt O’Riley and Joe Hart have been tipped to leave the club this summer.

John ‘Yogi’ Hughes was speaking about the upcoming transfer window when he made this prediction regarding the Celtic duo.

Hughes said [A Celtic State of Mind], “When we go into the summer we need to sign three or four players but that’s three or four players assuming we don’t lose anybody.

“We’re almost certainly going to lose Matt O’Riley. Everybody seems to think we are going to lose Joe Hart.

“I actually think if Joe Hart doesn’t elect to leave he will be kept on. Is Bernardo a buy? Is he still a buy after being dropped at the weekend?

“What about Idah? What are we going to do about wingers and the quality there?

“If you start moving through that squad and be ruthless with it, there’s a very big potential rebuild there.”

There is a general feeling that Joe Hart may well leave the club due his contract expiring at the end of the season.

And whilst Matt O’Riley is attracting plenty of transfer interest, Celtic will definitely be tested this summer. Whether or not the club get the money they are looking for is another matter entirely.

The Celtic support will be hoping O’Riley stays for another crack at the Champions League but that will depend on whether or not Celtic win the league.
