The Scottish media have forever been lambasted for the ‘favourable’ coverage of the Ibrox club over the years.
From liquidation denial to Craig Whyte ‘billionaire’ to ‘relegated to the third division’ the media in this country continue to embarrass themselves fawning over the Rangers whilst trying to convince us all that they are still the same club.
It’s an embarrassing spectacle that makes them look like amateurs in the journalistic world.
Especially when Celtic bloggers and fan media continue to outperform them on almost a daily basis.

But the latest lie they tried to tell, and this site as one of the first to call it out, was reporting a £5.8m ‘profit‘ in their annual accounts.
Now, I’m no accountant, but even I understand that if a figure is reported in the final column where is says profit/loss is in brackets, that means a loss.
And that figure was close to £1m.
Well, this morning, trusted finance Twitter account, Swiss Ramble, revealed the true extent of Rangers’ losses and it was far more than the £1m first thought and significantly less than what the media have been trying to spin:
#CelticFC £6m profit after tax is the best financial result in Scotland, compared to Rangers’ £2m loss. As a rule, Scottish clubs run a tight ship, so even in the COVID-impacted 2020/21 season the losses were relatively small. pic.twitter.com/Smwq7oqGh8

Bizarre that. So a £2m loss was reported as a £5.8m profit by the media. Why?
It’s as if they are trying to push an agenda that everything is ok financially at Ibrox when it really couldn’t be further from the truth.
