“I’m sure that would come into their thinking” – Pete O’Rourke tips two stars to move on after World Cup heartache

Another day another transfer ‘rumour’ but not just any old rumour. We have not one, but TWO Celtic players being tipped to move in the summer, I think.

If it’s not the EPL clubs that are coming a calling it’s because they missed out on being selected for their country for this years World Cup.

Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi had to deal with this disappointment and transfer journalist, Pete O’Rourke, reckons they could seek pastures new to help boost their cause for regular international football.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke said, “I’m sure that would come into their thinking of why they have possibly missed out on World Cup selection as well.

“And maybe they’re thinking moving to a bigger European league might boost their chances of becoming regulars in the Japan squad.

“But I think Celtic, they’ll be hoping they’ve done a good job for both players right now, that they have been playing in the Champions League, and they’ll probably be playing in the Champions League on a regular basis going forward.”

Ok, let’s start with this. Since joining Celtic, Kyogo has been capped on numerous occasions and Hatate has made the international breakthrough.

The club has helped to BOOST their chances of becoming regular international players. The only problem Kyogo has is that he hasn’t impressed on his list two outings and Hatate is a wee bit further down the pecking order due to the Japan manager preferring experience for the tournament.

To suggest that the players might look to move because of this snub is just mischief making and, unfortunately, we could see this again after Matt O’Riley never made the Denmark squad.
