“I had no reason to believe he was over the limit” – Stunning past of Sevco’s new ‘target’

So as *Rangers tie up their first mega bucks signing of the summer, their attention now turns to a relatively unknown player from the English Championship.

Tom Lawrence is next on the radar and when I heard the name it rang a bell.

Lawrence was involved in a drink driving incident that led to himself and fellow team mate, Mason Bennett being convicted and ordered to serve 80 hours of community service.

There was also one more player involved in the incident and that was another team mate, Richard Keogh.

Keogh was a passenger in the car and was incredibly SACKED by Derby County for, get this, not wearing his seat belt.

Yep, and the the person driving (Lawrence) was fined six weeks wages. Here [The Mirror], Keogh recounts that night, “I hadn’t spent the evening with Tom.

“I had no reason to believe he was over the limit. Everyone was in there before me so I didn’t think: ‘Hang on a minute.’ It was just: ‘OK. I need to get home. Let’s go.

“The next thing I know I’m waking up and speaking to the paramedics.”

Lawrence drove into the back of Greenwoods car and both fled the scene leaving Keogh unconscious in Lawrence’s Range Rover.

The freed Welsh international forward is heavily linked to join the Ibrox side this summer.
