Yeah, he was serious and yeah it’s that time of year again, more affectionally known by Celtic fans as Sevco Bingo time.
The transfer silly season where *Rangers players are linked with moves worth tens of millions but more often than not coming out of the window still at the club.
The way our reporters gush over them and try to hawk them away for millions is the twice yearly embarrassment our media guys put themselves through.
But at least this reporter does try to make it sound a bit more believable but the only problem is, he needs *Rangers to have at least 6 players worth £10m for this to work.
Speaking on Go Radio, Mark Guidi made this claim about the *Rangers players, “I mean, if Rangers wanted to really get cash in, they’ve got half a dozen guys here that was more than 10 million quid.
“So really wanted to they could go and raise 60 million in the transfer market but some of the wanted if they wanted to rip it up and start again.
“And that’s because of the hard work in the last two or three years and success that they’ve had from Bassey to Kent, Aribo there’s a bit of interested in Hagi as well, Morelos and guys like that.
“I’m no saying they are going to do that, but I’m saying the chance will be there if they wanted to.”
That’s a stretch. £10m for each of these guys? Is there a club that would be willing to shell out that kind of money for a guy that’s had a decent three months (Bassey), a forward that can’t get into double figures on the scoring charts (Kent), another who has still to return from a serious knee injury (Hagi) and Morelos (enough has been said about him as it is.)
I can’t see it but it will be hilarious watching the Scottish media try and do it anyway.
