Celtic fans let themselves down as Lennon moves on

I don’t like writing stuff like this. I really don’t but as Neil Lennon moves on to a new chapter in his life in Cyprus, it is now time for the Celtic fans to let go of the anger that has followed them about since the collapse of ten in a row,

Yes, I am angry. Yes, I blame Lennon, but like the former Celtic boss, our club is also in the midst of a new chapter in what could be another historic season for us.

Which is why I don’t get all the negativity aimed at Lennon on Omonia Niccossia’s tweet welcoming the former Celt to their club:

For all the messages of good luck, there were many other derogatory ones out their against one of Celtic’s legends. I am not posting them on this blog. Have a search through the timeline if you wish.

Now like I said, I get the anger and the pain of last season and how Lennon conducted himself throughout that disaster of a campaign. I really do.

But we have much bigger and brighter things going on at the club at the moment.

It’s time to let Neil go and move on.

We’re better than this.
