“Terrible decision”, “Questions need asked this is a shocking decision” – Follow Follow meltdown as they turn on another club legend

Ibrox Stadium

The fans are seriously the worst when it comes to talking about their players and past players.

*Rangers fans, for all their bluster about being ‘loyal’ (which is ironic as every supporters club has that word in their name) don’t have any issue on turning on the club or players when it suits them.

Now I get it, they are frustrated at the club for not spending all of those billions of pounds earned in Europe last season. But as I explained yesterday, there will be no money spent again at Ibrox.

So what do they need to do? Rummage the free transfers bin and re-sign current players.

Players like Alan McGregor.

The goalie seemed to have been forgiven for walking away when the club died back in 2012. He was revered as a hero over the last couple of seasons for his heroics (yeah, I know) in the league and Europe.

So you would think, at least, the fans would be happy that he’s sticking around for another season right? Wrong.

After the club announced the deal, not only did the fans lambast it on Twitter, they took to Follow Follow to show their feelings.

And boy, it wasn’t great!

And finally, it seems to be, eventually, kicking in with some of them. They are skint!

Former Celt backs transfer ‘no brainer’

Brother Walfrid Statue, Celtic Park

As I reported earlier today, it looks like the Benji Siegrist move is going to be announced this week at some point after the goalkeeper was spotted at a Glasgow hotel.

There was talk that other clubs where interested in him but it seems that the move to Celtic is well under way.

And it has the backing of former Celtic star, Frank McAvennie.

Famed for his sometimes ‘eccentric’ and negative spin on Celtic, McAvennie gets this one spot on but warns Siegrist that he may not see much as much game time as he’s like.

“Barkas is away and Bain hasn’t done much wrong but he’s not a number one, for me,” McAvennie told Football Insider.

“Siegrist could be number one. Not at the moment with Joe Hart the way he is.

“But, I think if he comes into the team when Joe is injured, I think it will be seamless. He is that good of a keeper.

“The boy has done well, there are a few teams after him. He will be the number two but there are that many games now, he will get games.

“Joe won’t be there forever either. It’s a no-brainer for me.”

Siegrist would be a great back up option for Celtic and it would tick off the list one of the vital positions Ange Postecoglou needs to address this summer.

German media rubbish latest Sevco transfer fantasy

Ibrox Stadium

I genuinely wonder when the penny will drop with mob.

For all the bluff and bluster of what they earned in the Europa League last season, the *Rangers fans will need to make peace with one simple fact this season.

They will not spend any money again this window.

How do I know? Look at their previous losses in the last 10 years. £100m. In ten years. For one trophy.

Now they can kid themselves on all they want but there is absolutely no way that none of those losses is debt. Do they seriously think that their Directors plugged in all that cash for confetti shares?

No chance. They will want some of that money recouped and pronto.

Which explains the clubs current signing policy. Contract extensions for Davis, Arfield and McGregor who are all on the wrong side of 30 coupled with chasing ‘Bosmans’ all adds up to one thing. No money will be spent. Again.

The latest transfer rumour [HITC] that the club were trying to sign German u21 star Eric Martel is just fantasy stuff. Contract expires this month (there’s that phrase again) it seems that he is heading to his homeland to sign with mega money club RB Leipzig.

Xavi Simons is another one. Contract expiring with PSG, linked to Barcelona and Bayern Munich. I wonder where he will end up?

Ross Stewart from Sunderland. Top goalscorer. Linked with the club. How much do goalscorers in England go for again? Even in the second tier? Millions.

Millions that Rangers will not spend.

It’s time for a reality check with their fans. These stories are out there to appease them and when the end of August hits and they’ve signed no one of note, cue the shock horror from the Govan stands.

They can’t say they weren’t warned!

“As bigoted as the rest of them”, “The guys running it all have a Sevco background” – Celtic fans react to Nil by Mouth criticism

Celtic Park

The Martin Compston story really set a fire under peoples *rses last week.

Whilst the Line of Duty actor seemed to be copping it from all angles of the Sevco support, anti sectarian charity Nil By Mouth also entered into the furore.

Born Celtic wrote about the story last week and whilst the changing of the lyrics to Beautiful Sunday was stupid by the fans, the amount of criticism aimed at Compston is seriously misplaced.

Whilst the *Rangers support had the cheek to try and take the moral high ground, some Celtic supporters defended the lyric change.

My view? Those songs shouldn’t be sung at Celtic Park. They have no place at the club and we have a far more extensive and brilliant song book that celebrates the club that should be used.

We don’t need these songs at Celtic. End of.

But what we do need is a body of authority that calls out all sectarianism in the media in Scotland and doesn’t just present itself when high profile cases appears.

And it seems that many Celtic fans are not happy with Nil by Mouth’s contribution so far:

In my opinion, we will never be rid of this cancer in our society. The SFA and SPFL’s weekly silence on the issue is telling and their lack of action speaks volumes.

Celtic target ‘spotted’ in plush Glasgow hotel

Celtic Park

Must be nearly done and dusted then!

Celtic’s transfer business has been plastered all over social media and the SMSM and if last nights shenanigans are anything to go by, it’s only going to get worse (or better, however you view these things)!

As the Hoops close in on Benji Siegrist, it seems that a deal may not be too far away as the player was spotted in a plush Glasgow hotel.

According to reports [The Sun] to former Dundee United keeper is putting the finishing touches to his move to Celtic so are we to assume an announcement is on it’s way soon?

No doubt, we will be subject to more speculation as the week draws on but it seems as though the club are now starting to move forward with moves in the market.

A goalkeeper is seen as a priority for the club after allowing Barkas to leave on loan and with Scott Bain clearly not fancied as the natural number two, Postecoglou looks like he is set to fill that void with the capture of Siegrist.

“If Romano is reporting this there is real substance to it” – Phil Mac on last nights transfer meltdown

Celtic Park, Main Stand entrance

Fabrizio Romano.

The man everyone listens to when it comes to transfers.

Very rarely, it at all, gets any of his predictions wrong when it comes to player moves which is why when he speaks, everyone listens.

I was discussing this last night with a high profile Celtic blogger. He was completely refuting the rumour and I put it like this. ‘I’ve been with my wife over 20 years. If Fab told me she was a man, I would defo check.’

That’s how much he is trusted on these matters.

Some fans though simply refused to believe the Juranovic rumour. Flat out denied it to the point where they tried to discredit Romano’s ‘ITK’ credentials.

But these same fans lauded him when he announced his Jota update.

Very strange.

Anyway, Phil Mac Ghiolla Bháin in his latest blog put his weight behind the rumours and for those fans that don’t believe Fabs Juranovic story? You better look away now

Some good news in that Phil questions the weight Romano’s claim makes, but then the reality that the fans need to face up to. The transfer specialist know his stuff.

“Horrified”, “Becoming concerning”, “Attention seeking fud” – Reality bites Sevco fans hard at latest announcement

Celtic Park

I find them a strange bunch, these Newco supporters.

They never seem to question anything until it’s too late.

They are following the same path they went down whilst supporting the old Rangers.

£13m on Tore Andre Flo? ‘We arra peepo!

And when they went into administration then died? ‘How the f*** did that happen?

And it seems lessons have still not been learned.

After all the talk of them earning $1b from their super, duper amazing run in Europes second tier competition, the fans were expecting the club to splash the cash this summer.

So far? Nothing. Not a peep. And they are surprised at that which is incredible because it’s as if they’ve forgotten that the club have raked up over £100m in losses for two trophies and the ‘We nearly won the Europa League’ Cup.

So when they start to re-sign current squad players, does the penny drop? Kind of, but not in they way you would think.

Rather than question why the club have gave new contracts to players over 35 years old and not spending money replacing them, they talk about where they will fit in the first team:

Absolutely bizarre! But, let them carry on. We’ll continue to build our club for the future whilst they still revel in the past.

“Mate just sit down, you salivate every time you hear a flush”, “Comes with a free burst beach ball” – Sevco fans embarrassing money making scheme rinsed

Main stand and Jock Stein Stand, Celtic Park

It was only a matter of time before something like this cam out to be fair.

The pain and hurt of the Europa League Final loss was quickly follow followed by the pain and hurt of stomach cramps as a result of drinking toilet water.

But nothing will compare to the pain that this next money making venture will bring.

Replica Europa League losers medals.

Why on earth anyone would buy one of these is beyond me.

I can’t even watch reruns of the 2003 UEFA Cup Final never mind stoating about with one of these round my neck!

And it was (deservedly so) rounded on and mocked by the Celtic fans:

Can’t wait to see the first profile picture appear on Facebook with fans posing with these round their necks!

“Go find a job ya c***” – BBC journalist’s abuse for latest Sevco transfer update

Ibrox at Broomloan Road

Got to love them. They show no loyalty to anyone but expect the same back at will.

I am of course talking about the *Rangers supporters.

They are genuinely never a happy bunch.

And when it comes to negative news about their club, hell mend the guy that breaks it.

Like this journalist here.

After tweeting this transfer update on Erik Botheim (who, let’s be honest was NEVER going to Ibrox):

Fletcher received all sorts of abuse from the Ibrox support:

You wonder why these journalists bother with that club!

“8.5/10” – Major scouting social media accounts exciting Celtic update

Celtic Park

Transfers, transfers, transfers.

It’s all we’ll hear about and until the season kicks off, it will dominate the headlines for weeks to come.

But what about the most recent transfer rumour of Lanus full back Alexandro Bernabei joining the club?

How close is the deal?

Not too far away according to Twitter account Football Talent Scout.

With over 200k followers the account tweets updates on players it sees potential in and last night, it posted this on Celtic target Bernabei:

So not only does Bernabei seem the real deal when it comes to ability, it looks like a deal for the full back is not too far away.
