Philippe Clement is starting to get a reputation for talking absolute rubbish whenever it comes to Celtic.
The Belgian came to Scottish football in October last year and immediately the media in this country were fawning all over him.
A narrative started to build surrounding the Rangers manager turning the Ibrox club into champions.
But as we all know, Brendan Rodgers, Celtic and the fans all had the last laugh as a double was won and Rangers’ bottle clashed.
Clement unravelled after the Scottish media embarrassed themselves slavering over him and now, after signing a contract extension at Rangers, he’s waffling about Celtic again.
Clement loves the ‘battle with Celtic’
After signing his new deal, watch what Clement said about Celtic:
Now a battle would suggest that both teams were close to winning the league and it went to the wire but in truth, Rangers’ bottle crashed well before then.
Celebrating the 3-3 with us at Ibrox was his biggest mistake as a loss to Ross County was followed up by more dropped points in Dundee with a Dens Park draw.
Rangers also never laid a glove on Celtic in the Scottish Cup final as Clement’s bluster blew out but it seems it has returned and it has left these Celtic fans really confused.
Battle? Don’t have a battle in ye ya baldy slabber cabbage 🥴

Clement is the best manager *Rangers have had, by a considerable distance. But he looks rattled, gaunt and has lost whatever aura he had when he was winning all the time with them.

Someone needs to tell him that trophies is plural. He has only won a singular trophy and the work was done by someone else.

I have to admit, I love Clement’s rambling as it brings a great source of entertainment for the Celtic fans.
And if the Rangers manager really loves a battle, he’s not got long to wait for one as the Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park is a mere two weeks away.
