Celtic fans will find James Tavernier’s Scottish Cup gaffe hilarious

Rangers captain, James Tavernier

Celtic fans had the opportunity to sit back and relax and watch Hearts try and knock Rangers out of the Scottish Cup today after easing past Aberdeen yesterday.

A thrilling 6-5 penalty shoot out was enough to send Brendan Rodgers into another Scottish Cup Final as the Celtic manager enjoys an incredible unbeaten spell in the competition.

And today, it was the turn of Rangers and their wee cousins as both teams look to book their place in with the Scottish champions.

But for James Tavernier, he was looking forward to playing in a different competition today after an embarrassing social media gaffe.

Taking to Instagram, Tavernier posted this in his story before the kick off:

Now, to be fair to Tavernier, he’s only played in Stot.. I mean Scotland for seven years and appeared in just two Scottish Cup Finals.

So the mistake is easy to understand. Now set to face Celtic in the final in May, Celtic will be hoping to win their 42ns Stottish Cup in our history.
