Celtic fans will find Micah Richard’s Steven Gerrard Rangers comments absolutely hilarious

former Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard.

Steven Gerrard. The mere mention of his name instantly reminds the Celtic fans of the hilarious Banter Years we enjoyed whilst he was the Rangers manager.

His only claim to fame over his four years at Ibrox was to win a COVID title that was obviously affected by Celtic having no fans at the stadium during that time.

Because, let’s not forget, before that season was curtailed, Gerrard was about to get his jotters after a defeat at Ibrox against Hamilton effectively handed Celtic their second nine-in-a-row.

Now think about this. During Gerrard’s watch, Celtic won a Quadruple Treble and a historic second nine-in-a-row triumph. Which makes former Man City defender, Micah Richards’ Gerrard claim absolutely hilarious.

Gerrard did ‘really well’ at Rangers

Yeah, you read that correctly. The one title Gerrard won at Rangers has been branded a success by Richards as he looked over his old mates’ managerial record.

Richards said (The Monday Night Club), “You look at Gerrard going to Villa, he’s obviously a very good manager. Did really well at Rangers.

“Went to Villa and just, maybe, the timing was too quick”

It’s little wonder we don’t take English pundit’s opinions on our game seriously. Gerrard was a failure at Rangers, a failure at Aston Villa and is also failing at mid-table Al Ettifaq despite having virtually unlimited funds.

Gerrard simply was not good enough and the more these English-based pundits (not Chris Sutton) keep pushing this narrative the less and less they are respected in Scotland.
