What the Tartan Army did at Hampden last night delighted the Celtic supporters

Celtic fans following the team in Europe.

Most football fans can’t stand the international break. It boring, dull and an unwelcome break for the Celtic supporters from watching their heroes.

Brendan Rodgers’ team was just starting to find their groove in the Scottish Premiership and this two week break was about as welcome as David Murray at the Kelly & White households.

The Celtic fans where hoping to catch a glimpse of Greg Taylor and Anthony Ralston for Scotland last night but both players were unused subs in the 1-0 defeat to Northern Ireland.

But that disappointment quickly disappeared when they watched the Scotland fans do something really special at Hampden last night.

Have a watch of this:

Simply brilliant and no more than the Northern Irish fans deserved.

Bizarrely breaking into sporadic renditions of Rule Britannia, the visiting Irish fans put on a display of true bootlicking subservience it would make even the most fervent Rangers fan blush.

Okay, that’s a bit of a stretch but at least try and have a bit of bloody self respect.

Whilst the Northern Irish run out winners in a meaningless football match, they are losers in the eyes of the Scotland and Celtic support.
