We all know who the journalists are who peddle this nonsense but it is also surprising to hear someone from down south with a clear understanding of how a football club is run peddle a Rangers myth as well.

Former Everton CEO, Keith Wyness, was speaking about the possibility of Man City being relegated due to financial irregularities when he made this bizarre claim.

Celtic fans shoo down Rangers relegation claim

“There are multiple charges within each certain category. I think the Premier League should have drafted in additional legal resources to get this handled and dealt with earlier.

“In terms of relegation, I think if these breaches are proven to be as egregious as they have been claimed to be – then it has to be on the table.

“We saw it with Rangers in Scotland with their EBT and tax issues. It wouldn’t be the first time it had happened.

“These charges seem to be pretty serious, as I understand it.”

Relegated. Indeed. How a team can get relegated down three divisions after finishing second in the league is incredible.

We all know what happened to the Ibrox club and these Celtic fans where quick to correct the ignorant former Everton man.
