Dominik Diamond says what every Celtic fan is thinking after Rangers crash out of Europe

Celtic Park

The Celtic fans are delighted as all good things come to an and as Rangers crash out of the Europa League after losing 1-0 to Benfica tonight.

The Ibrox club earned a creditable draw in Lisbon last week which led to high hopes that they could progress into the quarter finals of the second tier competition.

However, it wasn’t to be as Benfica ran out victors in a match that was refereed fairly and squarely without any pattern of assistance from the match officials.

Like I said the match officials who were appointed did their job properly and it’s amazing just how much they don’t influence a game when they do.

And this was summed up perfectly by Celtic supporting TV and radio presenter, Dominik Diamond on X:

So once again the UEFA officials deliver an officiating masterclass to our own Scottish refs who seem to buckle under the pressure at Ibrox and award Rangers every favourable decision going.

And see if our very own referees did their jobs correctly, Clement’s side would find life in the SPFL extremely tough indeed.
