BBC unashamedly drag Celtic into Rangers’ sectarian problem

Celtic Park

The Rangers fans’ disgraceful sectarian singing at Easter Road last Sunday has been called out once again by the Celtic fans.

We have no qualms about raising issues with the anti-Catholic and anti-Irish racism that emanates from the Ibrox support every week.

But against Hibs at the weekend, their usual vitriol took a sinister turn as they chanted ‘die a fenian b-st-rd‘ at Martin Boyle as the striker lay unconscious on the pitch.

And that has prompted a furious response from Westminster MP, Ian Blackford and a tirade from Tam McManus and others in the Scottish media.

Great. It’s about time too.

And next up was the BBC‘s Chris McLaughlin. The reporter wrote a whole article on the shameful Ibro support but somehow just managed to add a small Celtic caveat just to ensure there was enough to implicate our club in this shameful episode.

In his column on the BBC, there was a photo inserted of broken seats at Fir Park in the Celtic away end:

Quite why the BBC felt the need to do this is absolutely beyond me. The whole article was based around the Hibs fans throwing objects onto the pitch and the sectarianism coming from the Rangers away support.

I suppose someone had to keep the Ibrox hordes happy. Can’t have the whole of Scottish football holding them to account without implicating Celtic. Anything to keep the Old F-rm guilt by association going though, eh?
