Tam McManus’ X-rated reaction to Rangers referee calls mirrors how the Celtic fans have been feeling for years

Tam McManus launched a furious tirade on social media after watching his former team lose to Rangers and join Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

The former Hibs man was absolutely raging with the match referee after Hibs were reduced to ten men, a possible red card and denied a penalty retake after Fabio Silva encroached the Hbs penalty box.

And immediately after the Easter Road side crashed out, McManus vented in an astonishing X-rated rant.

Taking to X, McManus said, “Remember the referees threatened to go on strike here after criticism from managers?

“It might be players & managers shortly as the officials in Scotland are f-ck-ng hopeless. I mean absolutely embarrassingly bad.

“VAR has exposed the level of referees here.”

VAR continues to affect teams other than Celtic

The refereeing technology has come under some serious scrutiny ever since Celtic fell foul of John Beaton’s beady eye last Sunday.

The only club that seems to be immune from the effects of VAR is Rangers and after some SPFL bosses have now started to speak up, maybe, just maybe the tide of opinion is starting to turn.

As football fans now become exasperated with VAR in general, it does seem as though the pattern of assistance that Rangers currently enjoy is slowly and surely starting to get called out.
