Celtic fans are absolutely furious after hearing what Peter Lawwell said today

Celtic chairman, Peter Lawwell

The accounts are out and Celtic is absolutely swimming in cash.

That’s nothing new as we always felt that would be the case.

However, the club’s lack golf significant activity in the January transfer window seems all that more perplexing now.

After wasting a ton of money on what now seems to be players who are not good enough for Celtic, the fans where hopeful that January would be the month where one or two new additions would help them in the title run in.

The additions of Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn did nothing to appease the feelings of the fans and now that we are tow points behind Rangers in the league, fury erupted today after Peter Lawwell’s latest comments when the financial results were announced.

Peter Lawwell’s reasons on why Celtic failed to strengthen in January

The Celtic chairman has been in the crosshairs of the supporters ever since the last two botched transfer windows.

And as he explained the clubs reasons for not adding quality in January, that just angered the Celtic fans more.

On Celtic’s transfer business, Lawwell said [Celtic FC], “The Board recognises the inherent inefficiencies of holding excess cash, and, in conjunction with other cash commitments, the importance of investing in strengthening the team to deliver football success. The Board shares the frustrations of the supporters regarding the less than anticipated activity in the recent transfer window.”

Wow. Just, wow. So what, we just had one transfer target in mind for one position and when it became clear they weren’t available we just…stopped?

Celtic fans are fuming with Lawwell

Ordinarily posting financial results like Celtic did would be a cause for celebration.

After watching Rangers die and then come back as a new club, being financially sustainable has never been more important.

But what’s the point in having all that money if you are not going to invest it in the team and that is exactly these Celtic fans’ thoughts on this thread by The Cynic:

There’s always one board apologist on these threads.
