Brendan Rodgers told what he needs to do to get Kyogo Furuhashi firing for Celtic again

The Kyogo Furuhashi conundrum at Celtic is one that has perplexed the supporters this season.

The Japanese striker is nowhere near the player that he looked under Ange Postecoglou, and whilst recently he has performed better with his goal against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup, his goal return overall has been poor this season.

Celtic boss, Brendan Rodgers, has been told that he needs to find the answer to the Kyogo problem and John ‘Yogi’ Hughes from A Celtic State of Mind has just the very solution.

Hughes said (A Celtic State of Mind), “I really enjoyed Kyogo getting on the ball.

“Because apart from Kyogo being a good striker, he’s a helluva player.

“And he brings dynamism and energy and pace to everything that he does. And I am happy for him to be in that role.

“And if that’s the price for getting the best striker in the country on the ball, I think we have to pay that price.”

A firing Kyogo will be crucial for Celtic’s title race

There is no doubt Celtic have missed Kyogo’s goal return this season. With just 12 goals to his name, the Japan international is miles from where he needs to be. [Transfermarkt]

And if he needs to drop back so that Adam Idah can create more room to make him more dangerous, then so be it.

With Kilmarnock coming up on Saturday, Rodgers will face a stiff test against a team that has been a thorn in his side this season.

Let’s hope Kyogo is on it on Saturday to help Celtic pick up the three points and keep the pressure on the chasing Rangers.
