“So that’s who Kuhn has replaced then?” – Celtic fans react to late night deadline day departure

Almost into the last hour of the transfer window and there are is still no announcements from Celtic about new additions to the squad.

Adam Idah flew into Glasgow this afternoon and at the time of writing, it seems no deal had been agreed yet to bring the Republic of Ireland international in on loan.

With just Nicholas Kuhn the only official transfer completed by Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic fans are fuming that there have been no signings made as yet to bolster the team for the title run in.

However, there has been some movement, but it’s in the opposite direction.

Mikey Johnston leaves Celtic on loan

The Republic of Ireland winger is now an official West Brom player after Celtic announced the deal

on X tonight.

The club posted, “Mikey Johnston has joined West Bromwich Albion on loan until the end of the season.

“Best of luck, Mikey! 💚”

The move marks Johnstone’s second loan move in as many years as the 24-year-old still struggles to make a starting spot at Celtic his own.

Celtic fans react to Mikey Johnston joining West Brom

Without being disrespectful, the Celtic support are probably glad to see Johnston get a move out of the club.

He has been under pressure recently and after some poor performances this season, it does look like his Hoops career is over.

And whilst the love is just until the end of the season, the Celtic fans responded to the news of Johnston’s departure.

One fan said, “So that’s who Kuhn has replaced then?” whilst another lamented the terms of the deal, “So no option to buy means he’ll be back in the summer 🙉🙈🙊✌🏻🍀.”

Another sarcastically posted, “Who we gonna fill the bench with now 😂.” whilst another simply wished him the best, “Good luck mate.”

One fan used sarcasm again when he put the boot into the admin of Celtic Twitter account for their silence all day, “It’s alright @PoliceScotland ,the Celtic admin has been found safe and well.” whilst the majority sent messages like this, “Best of luck Mikey 🍀”

In what has been a pretty disappointing transfer window all round, this is one the Celtic fans are likely want to forget any time soon.
