Celtic have been tipped to make a move for West Ham striker, Danny Ings. The 31-year-old is struggling for game time and goals this season and it seems that a loan to Celtic may be the kind of move the West Ham striker needs.

With the amount of chances Celtic make, Ings would be a shoo-in to destroy his current goal-scoring record with West Ham at Celtic Park.

Ings has scored 123 goals in 392 career appearances with his record season being with Southampton in the Premier League in 2020 where he scored 22 goals in 38 appearances. [Transfermarkt]

But despite that, the news that the club could be interested in Ings [Daily Record] has been met with a mixed reaction by the Celtic fans on this thread on X.

If Danny Ings is the striker we sign on loan then it’s definitely a good loan deal for 6 months.

Proven goalscorer at the highest level in England and has massive amounts of experience.

West Ham stats aren’t great but his overall profile is very decent.

Danny Ings to Celtic gets a mixed reaction

Whilst Ings was a quality striker in his day, there is no denying that his best days are behind him.

With no goals in eleven appearances this season, the 31-year-old striker doesn’t smack of the ‘quality’ that Brendan Rodgers has been banging on about since being knocked out of the Champions League.

And it seems that if the move was to happen, the Celtic fans would need to be convinced that this is the right move.

I watch West Ham regularly. Be careful what you wish, he goes missing for large periods, and doesn’t work off the ball.

Not a chance , injury prone , unfit , no been getting game at any club he has been at , stop accepting dross because nothing else is coming we as a fan base should be demanding much better
