Celtic’s penalty award and then subsequent retake has left the Rangers fans absolutely fuming. And it is great to see.
Although Luis Palma failed to capitalise on the retake as Celtic ran out eventual 1-0 winners over Ross County, it didn’t stop the lovely people over at Follow Follow from screaming blue murder at the award.
Now, let’s not forget that the award by the referee was 100% correct. Let’s just gloss over the fact that the County defender took the Hoops captain clean out and also lets forget that the penalty was retaken because THREE Staggies players were in the box as the spot kick was taken.
Sticklers for sporting integrity, the Sevco fans seem to want the rules applied only when it suits their own team.
And on Follow Follow, they were absolutely fuming that Celtic were awarded another legitimate penalty in the league.
The irony of Sevco fans complaining about penalties is not lost on me. The fact that they almost set a new world record for not conceding a penalty, especially WITH VAR is lost on them however.
Even with Celtic failing to capitalise on the spot kicks awarded, Brendan Rodgers‘ side are still top of the league.
I can’t wait till we are awarded one against them in the next Glasgow Derby at Ibrox in April. The meltdown will be epic!
