”Has to be a penalty” – Stuart Kettlewell is raging after watching Rangers ‘benefit’ from VAR checks

To be fair, Stuart Kettlewell is not wrong. The amount of times The Rangers benefit from patterns of assistance is quite incredible.

Today, we published a story about Motherwell being denied a clear penalty against Rangers for a short pull inside the Ibrox side’s penalty box.

The refereee said no penalty and no one is even sure if VAR checked the game incident. And it left The Steelmen’s manager, Stuart Kettlewell, absolutely fuming.

Kettlewell said, “The one that was brought to my attention from our analyst is the pull on Mika Biereth’s arm. Backpost he looks favourite to get a touch on the ball. I am seeing them given as penalties constantly.

“I think Rangers themselves have benefited from a number of incidents like that. But my question is are we actually checking them? We keep getting told everything is being checked.

”I am not sure if that one has been specifically checked as I would defy anybody to tell me if it has been checked, we are ok with it. If that influences him from getting to the ball, I think we are all on the same page are we not?

“That it has to be a penalty. From the naked eye and what I have seen live and on a replay, that looks like it has to be a penalty based on the benchmark is for giving penalties in this league.” (Football Scotland)

In a decision bizarrely reminiscent of the Aberdeen shirt pull in the League Cup final, The Rangers are stil benefitting from these ludicrous ‘honest mistakes’ that seem to only afflict them.

It’s quite incredible. The Rangers defence must be totally bang on the money in every single challenge they make as they look untouchable with VAR.

I’m sure the SFA and the SPFL are ready to look into this any minute now. Right lads?
