The Celtic dressing room has always been known to be full of quality. But sometimes that quality does not always shine through.
Sometimes, it takes players a bit of time, the right manager and the right system for them to fully come into their own.
Take Greg Taylor, for instance.
For so long, Taylor was the whipping boy amongst the Celtic fans. Taking over the reigns from Kieran Tierney was never going to be easy for any player but when you are signed from Kilmarnock for £3m, the chances of being accepted straight away was always slim.
But, Taylor has been a shining ray of light in the Postecoglou revolution and the man who’s reigns he took over from was glowing in his praise for the Scotland star.
As reported by The Sun via The Boot Room, Tierney said, “Greg, for me, is a contender for player of the year.
“He came through a hard time at Celtic with the Covid situation and the missing out on 10.
“But we always knew he was going to be a great player for the club.
“Greg’s different from me. He’s got his own strengths. He’s very technical and on the ball he’s among the best there is.
“I’m so happy he’s established himself in the team. I love him as a person and we text each other weekly.”
Taylor is our player of the year. An infectious character in the dressing room, the left back is very influential amongst his team mates and this endorsement by Tierney is very telling in that he is only going to get better as this Celtic team gets stronger.
