“He’s better than Maeda and Abada” – Clyde pundit makes huge Celtic team selection call

The Celtic winger debate has become something of a thing these days.

With Daizen Maeda looking like the new whipping boy amongst a certain section of fans, the debate over who should start between him and Abada has been fierce over the last few weeks.

But, according to Gordon Dalziel, neither of them should start ahead of a man who he claims is a ‘very clever player’.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Dalziel said, “I think he’s better than Maeda and I think, just now, I think he’s a better player than Abada. I think Abada will have a terrific career at Celtic.

But I think he’s got everything in his locker. You know he played in a different position the last few games, just behind the striker, I think coming off the flanks he’s got a terrific delivery.

He’s a very clever player, very skilful. If it was me, I would have him and Jota on the flanks if I was playing that formation, without a shadow of a doubt.”

Haksabanovic is very clearly a talented player. Within a few minutes of his debut, you could see that he can go on and stake a claim in Celtic’s first team.

I can see the case for starting ahead of Maeda. But Abada? Surely the Israeli has enough credit in the bank to warrant getting the nod ahead of a new signing?

The team selection tonight has shown which player Ange Postecoglou may well be the casualty for the Montenegran.
