Mark Hendry makes strange McGregor/Jack comment as Celtic, Hearts and Sevco fans laud captain

As Scotland celebrate promotion into the Nations A League after three impressive results in this international break, there has been one standout performer over these three games.

Callum McGregor was an absolute stand out over the last three games for Scotland and has, quite rightly, been receiving all the plaudits. Especially after helping the national side gain their Nations League promotion this week.

But it was journalist, Mark Hendry’s comment after the Ukraine match that caught my eye:

Must say. It might not happen too often but I’ve always liked watching a Scotland midfield with Callum McGregor and Ryan Jack beside one other. Complement each other very well.

Ryan Jack? Really? The Rangers midfielder had a stinker of a game ang it looked to me that McGregor was carrying him throughout that whole 90 minutes.

And it wasn’t only noticed by me:

McGregor really stepped up to the fore for his country over the last three days so please do not try and band in Ryan Jack to steal his thunder when the *Rangers player, very clearly, couldn’t lace the Celtic captain’s boots.
