“I’m told” – Phil Mac makes Dave King claim and predicts Celtic financial windfall

Got to love Phil right? The Irish blogger is a thorn in Sevco’s side and his constant updates from his sources within Ibrox are source of much amusement for us Celtic fans, and a source of overtime for dentists in Govan with the ensuing gnashing of teeth from the Ibrox supporters.

I’ve covered a few of Phil’s blogs here recently and you can catch up on his latest offerings here, but this one gave put a wry smile on my face.

Phil asked a question that to some may sound like something out of fantasy but for me, does have a ‘I could believe that’ feel about it.

The question was ,”Is Dave King banking on a Celtic victory at Ibrox?”

And you know what, he most probably may well be.

All the noise from King this week and last is King’s way of trying to force his way back into the Ibrox boardroom.

The only way he can do that is by uniting the *Rangers fans on his side and what better way to do it? By getting horsed off Celtic.

That’s how he done it the last time. Promising to end the ten in a row dream got the hordes from the south side on his side.

And he could play that card again.

And as for Celtic’s financial windfall? Phil says, “I’m told that the [Sydney Cup] competition organisers have permitted Celtic to use their own commercial arm” and when you look at who the Hoops have in their corner (Adidas), you just know that this will be commercialised to the nth degree pre November.

Whatever happens you can be sure of one thing, if Celtic win on Sunday, there will be a meltdown of monumental proportions all next week.

And I can’t wait to see it.
