No loyalty as report says no deal should be offered for Quadruple Treble legend

Celtic fans following the team in Europe.

Wow. A dip in form and we should be holding off on a new deal.

That’s a good one.

The lack of loyalty shown in this article [The Celtic Way] is mind blowing when you consider what the former Scotland winger has won n the green and white hoops for Celtic.

NINE league titles, SIX Scottish Cups and FIVE League Cups.

The man has been sensational for Celtic over his career at the Hoops that spans over fifteen years.

After just returning from two injuries, he has only features 23 times this season, most off the bench but has still scored three and assisted three.

In 433 appearances he has scored an incredible 96 goals and created 96.

This article was heavily swayed, and to be honest disgracefully written, to influence the negative side of Forrest’s performances whilst gleefully dismissing the positive influence he has on the team.

For example, his goal in the 1-0 win over St Johnstone in the Premier Sports Cup this season. Or the Scottish Cup final goal against Motherwell in our Treble Winning season.

Or the important goal he scored against Rosenberg in a 1-0 away win in the Europa League.

I could go on all day.

The point is, this article cherry picked all the reasons why he shouldn’t be offered a deal and offered absolutely no balance at all.

For me, I would deal him in just for his experience in the dressing room.

The guy is a winner. That’s what the club need right now. People that know how to win trophies.

What it doesn’t need is unbalanced ‘Celtic’ articles trying to spin negativity when unity is needed.

  1. What do you expect from a site that’s run by SMSM “journalists” masquerading as fan media?
    Sites that Tims should avoid IMO are;
    The Celtic Way (see above)
The Celtic Bhoys (clickbait garbage you’ve already read two days ago)
The Boot Room (always an anti-Celtic slant)
Transfer Tavern (more unadulterated speculative nonsense, usually of an anti-Celtic persuasion)

…and every and all mainstream Scottish outlet, of course.

  2. I agree m8, Forrest is a great player n he should b offered a new deal uf they have any sense, yet from the actual club nit fan perspective it may b that Ange, since bringing in players he wants can’t find a place to play him, and Big Ange will know Forrest don’t want to sit in the bench as he is a creative player u mean he plays out wide one of the hardest positions to play never mind aswell as he can, but like all time for foitballer’s n especially fan favourites like Forrest it’s a sore one but we need to keep bringing up the youth at the same time as keeping a squad with depth and talent n yeah Forrest is very talented but starting to near the end of his career definitely for us anyway, n new talent has been brought In ppl that Big Ange wanted so we jus gota go wi it, uts unfortunate but he’ll probably end up down south I the premiership or at worst their championship so ok we will loose another widely respected member oc the quad-treble 9 I.A.R team it will b a sad day, yet qe jus have to always look at the positives he’s been a great loyal player n supporter of the club his whole life n us fans will never forget that. But unfortunately football moves on n when it does so, sometimes sacrifice that may not seem fair needs b taken, or we will stagnate again like we did under lennon’s 2 spell In charge n I love him yo bits for alm he has done gor the club but that qas a bad move bringing him bk, as we seen the girls tome what happened after 3-4 years of him in charge a great start but after 2 goin into 3rd season we were lookin stale not the same team n Big Ange has come in got that jk , so if we have to loose Forrest it’s part of the game unfortunately as not one of us wanted Brownie to leave but their tjinkin of life after the game now these guys, coaching or management even jus retirement whatever it is that they need do now getti o as its really a young lads game am still amazed zlatan is getting ready to sign another contract at ac midian in his 40’s as that is jus mad, I mean he’s a striker no a goalkeeper or centre bk/ CDM or that but still top lvl at his age is very impressive. N yes we all love wee James Forrest but he may want to move on now for all we know but I get your point not a way for a celtic publication to b portraying any of our player’s they should have more respect for all he has given & sacrificed for the club, as he could easily have left ages ago if he really wanted away but that’s a hard core fan as well as a player, money don’t mean nothing it’s the wearing of the hoops more than anythin In the world, when it comes to player’s like El capitano Cal Mac n all the lad bleeding through they know how special the value is nit only gor their career but as a supporter it’s a family more than a club I’d say but hey that’s jus the Celtic way n has been fae 1888.
