“My information is” – Phil Mac shares the ultimatum set to Clement if Rangers fail to beat Real Betis tonight

It seems that Celtic weren’t the only team that had to win their last European group stage game this week.

For Celtic, it was all about playing for pride and getting that Champions League monkey off their back.

They did that successfully last night with a brilliant 2-1 win over Feyenoord.

However, for Rangers a win means more than just saving face. In fact, a victory over Real Betis will determine whether or not they can bring players in during the January window. That’s according to Phil Mac Ghiolla Bhain.

Phil wrote in his latest blog, “My information is that dear Phillipe has been left in no doubt by the Transcendental Chairman that victory tonight is vital for the club’s finances.

“I’m told that Monsieur Clement reminded his chairman that he had taken the job at the basket of assets on the understanding that he would be given funds in the January window.

“Philippe was told that his plans to strengthen in January would, in the main, have to be loan players.”

So it seems that there is already trouble in what is being hawked in the media as an Ibrox paradise.

The amount of money the Sevco suits allowed Michael Beale to fritter away is quite incredible.

It’s just a shame that there are no rules in place to ensure a club can’t spend more than it earns because of there was then the Ibrox club really would be screwed. Right?
