“Not an overwhelming endorsement” – Sevco new boys rundown by Bundesliga expert

Ibrox Stadium

There has been a lot of hype surrounding the signing of Rabbi Matondo by Rangers.

Billed as an £11m signing by the Scottish media (yeah, I know) the reality is, that at being purchased at around the £2m mark, the German club were willing to take a £9m hit on a player just to get him off the books.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, presenter Andrew McLean read out a review of the player from German football expert Derek Rae, “Derek Rae is somebody knows his stuff about German football.

I saw him tweeting today about Rabbi Matondo.

And there was people that had been asking him their opinion on him and I will just read his tweet out.

He said he’s incredibly fast but when he played for Schalke, game awareness and technical side needed work admittedly that was a long time ago now.

Apparently fared better in Belgium, Schalke weren’t planning with him for season.”

Hugh Keevins simply said, “Well it’s not an overwhelming endorsement from Derek Rae. But we can all make up our own minds.”

I think Derek Rae has simply made up our minds for us……….
