Rangers winger, Todd Cantwell talking about Celtic.

Celtic fans will love Jim Duffy’s take on Todd Cantwell’s future at Rangers

Wee TikTok Todd Cantwell has been a source of outstanding entertainment for the Celtic fans since he joined the club two seasons ago.

The Rangers midfielder’s off-field antics have gotten him into trouble as his social media activity winds up the Bears.

His on-field performances have also been scorned by his manager as Cantwell is posted missing in games against Celtic.

But hey, that doesn’t stop the badge-kissing when he scores a flukey goal with a cross in a game that meant nothing because Celtic had already won the league.

He’s a strange wee guy whom the Rangers fans are starting to take a serious dislike to so I wonder if the Celtic fans will actually love this take on Cantwell for on Jim Duffy.

Cantwell ‘could be moving out’

Duffy said (Clyde SSB), “Yeah, it’s a difficult one because if he is still part of the plans and he’s fit, you need to get him some game time whether it be 45 minutes, like some of the players.

“But to not be involved at all would suggest one of two things. He either is carrying an injury and he didn’t want to risk him at all, or there’s a suggestion that he could be moving out and one or two clubs would be interested in him.

“But again, these are only rumours and speculations. I think it’s unfair to say that that would be the case.

“It may well have been, as I say, just an injury precaution. And like any pre-season, you don’t really take risks.

“If they’re feeling even just tight muscles, why would you risk them? You know the level they can get to. You know what to expect.

“It’s not an unfamiliar player or a new player you want to see playing for you. You know exactly what you can get from these guys. Todd Cantwell has had that one or two little debates with the manager and obviously was substituted.

“But by and large, he was still a major part of the Rangers team under Philippe Clémont. So I don’t see that being an issue.

“I just think it might be a case of other clubs might be interested and to generate some income and free some space up for the new players.”

I’ll be sad when Cantwell does leave Rangers because like Morelos before him, he was a source of great laughs.

I hope he sticks around for a wee bit longer because who else in that Rangers team is going to keep us entertained?
