Paddy Power superbly trolls former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard after Jurgen Klopp quits Liverpool

Steven Gerrard after signing a new deal with Al Ettifaq

Ok, so this really isn’t Celtic news but anything that takes a pop at Steven Gerrard, for me, is fair game,

The Liverpool legend sold his soul to the dark side the moment he took the Rangers manager job and since then, he has lost all credibility amongst the Celtic fans.

Apart from the COVID title, Gerrard was a complete failure in Scotland and despite that, he continues to be talked about as some sort of legend amongst the Govan fans.

So ridiculous was the hype surrounding him, that the Celtic fans loved to point out that during his tenure in the south side of Glasgow, St Johnstone were more successful than him.

However, despite the Scottish media continually punting Gerrard as the next Liverpool manager, after Klopp announced he was leaving the Merseyside club at the end of the season, Paddy Power did what they do best and trolled the former Rangers manager.

Right on point, the betting giant doesn’t miss a trick whenever it sees an opportunity to gain some free publicity. And I am more than happy to share it.

Will Gerrard get the job after Klopp? Not a snowball’s chance in hell.

After failing at Rangers and Aston Villa and struggling in Saudi Arabia, I reckon I have a better chance of managing Liverpool than he does. However, it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
