‘I’m blaming’ – Finger is pointed squarely at one ‘clueless’ man for Celtic’s decline this season

Celtic’s sharp decline this season has caught many people off guard. Impressive wins against Rangers at Ibrox and the 6-0 win over Aberdeen had many convinced that the title was already heading back to Paradise.

Fast forward four weeks later and two draws and two defeats have seen Brendan Rodgers’ team allow Rangers the opportunity to go to lap of the league should they beat us at Celtic Park on the 30th of December.

So who is to blame for this? The board? The players? The recruitment team?

There is only one person that A Celtic State of Mind’s Kevin Graham says is responsible and he has pointed the finger squarely at him tonight.

Graham said, “I’m blaming Rodgers for this. He’s came in and he’s boasted about how he’s here to develop players, this and that.

“His team’s clueless. He’s taken a 34-goal-a-season striker and turned him into a guy who looks like he’s never seen a football in his life.

“Where we are at this point I’m blaming Rodgers. Overall, the 20 years of utter failure since Seville, I’m blaming the board.

“But the fact we’ve turned a one-horse race into a two-horse race, I’m blaming Rodgers.” (A Celtic State of Mind)

It’s very difficult to disagree with any of what Kevin Graham has said here. The decline of Celtic’s standards in Europe has been managed to such a degree that the team are no longer feared on the continent.

But even more alarming is how Rodgers has a manged to take a treble winning team to a point where they look like they haven’t played with each other before.

It’s time Rodgers earned his corn. He’s Celtic’s highest paid manager in our history so let’s see what kind of response paying that kind of money gets us.
