This clip was passed onto me this morning by a friend over Whatsapp.
And whilst the comments themselves are reprehensible and shocking, the source of them are not.
The Fourth Official pretends to be an impartial football account that likes to talk about Scottish football.
But every so often, a thinly veiled anti Celtic comment will pop up on their timeline and you get the feeling that what they are saying is not exactly how they are feeling.
Normally I ignore this idiot, but this time I cannot.
I cannot sit and listen whilst a podcaster makes a casual comment about lack of ‘protestant work ethic’ at Rangers when half their team is comprised of Catholics.
WTF is this guy on?
Whilst the host of program tried to distance himself from the comments:
The 4th Official account doubled down on his comments and put it under the banner of ‘free speech’. For those that haven’t heard what was said, here it is. Be aware that the clip does have profanities:
Quite an incredible statement to make and, to be honest, serious questions need asked by the authorities about this supposed football account.
Didn’t quite sense the tone of a ‘joke’ as no one laughed, but I did sense the tone of someone that meant every single word they said.
There is a difference.
It will be interesting to see how this transpires over the next few days.
