Now I remember this one hitting the headlines not so long ago.
In fact, Gareth Bale to Celtic and Rangers was clearly a headline designed to drum up publicity for the Welshman and whilst every reputable Celtic blogger dismissed the link to our club, the Ibrox bloggers lapped it up actually believing that Bale would consider swapping Madrid for Govan.
This site even ridiculed the suggestion, on many occasions, whilst sites like the ‘impartial’ 4th Official actually peddled a story that the Govan club should ‘pursue’ Bale.
Pursue. Like, as if, they have an actual chance of pulling it off.
It’s realms of utter fantasy. And they bought it.
So much so that when Bale eventually decided that his next destination was LA, Rangers News actually reported it as an opportunity missed by the club, “Former Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale has signed for MLS side Los Angeles FC amid ambitious links to the likes of Rangers this window.“
Ambitious? For who? Bale? Rangers?
If they really meant Rangers then yes they are correct. Unless you mean ambitious means ‘absolutely no f**king chance’ then yeah, it was ambitious.
Those poor deluded souls will believe anything.
