Based in Como in Italy, the former SPL CEO often tweets his views about the club and Mitchell’s archaic opinions on Celtic supporters‘ political views are often challenged.
Mitchell is a serial blocker of Celtic supporters who hold him to account and this weekend after Ajax and Celtic supporters clashed in Como, guess who the ex-SPL man had a go at?
Not the Zionistic Ajax support, Don’t be daft. Mitchell took a swipe at the Celtic fans once again and preahed about them leaving politics out of football.

Celtic supporters’ stance on Palestine has been praised the world over but Mitchell saw fit to criticise their on-going protest at the genocide in Gaza.
But when trouble broke out in Como over it, Mitchell posted on X, “What a total mess my club has got itself into. Some of us (not many) did try to warn them to leave politics alone. They come here, and make headlines for getting banned from stadia (DASPO).
“And cry “unfair”. In truth, they are becoming an unwelcome guest. Just play football.”

Responding to a Celtic fan who told him he is not a part of Celtic, Mitchell ranted, “This is the absolute crux of this. Am I an acute minority, or is there a silent majority like me?
“If so, shame on them. All that it takes for evil to prosper is for men of good heart to say nothing. Where tf are the Board on all this?
“But yes the club is no longer for me.”

My good friend James Forrest at The Celtic Blog wrote an excellent article condemning Mitchell’s swipe at the Celtic supporters.
For a guy who claims he doesn’t care about what Celtic supporters think, he’s went to an awful lot of trouble searching his name to find this.
