Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers should tell former Liverpool star where to stick his disrespectful Celtic transfer advice

Brendan Rodgers has been given transfer advice from former Liverpool star Didier Hamann.

As Celtic close in on a treble, Rodgers will be looking to strengthen his team for next season and Hamman reckons he has a player who would be perfect for the Hoops.

Ever since Kyogo left Celtic for Rennes, Rodgers has been adamant that he requires another striker to fill the Japan star’s boots.

And speaking about that, Hamann says there is a striker at West Ham who could do a job for the Celtic manager.

Brendan Rodgers told West Ham struggler Danny Ings could do a job for Celtic

Speaking to PokerFirma, Didi Hamann said: “Could Danny Ings be a success at Celtic? Absolutely. His playing time at West Ham has been restricted and I think Celtic would be a great option for him.

“The standard of football is not quite as high as the Premier League and I think he could get a new lease of life up there.

“He will certainly be on the radar of Celtic and maybe Rangers because he has a proven record of putting the ball into the net. If you make chances for him he will show you where the goal is for sure.”

Danny Ings’ West Ham stats make a fool of Hamann’s Celtic suggestion

Celtic require a striker to fill that can produce goals at the very top level.

With Champions League football to come next season, would Celtic fans hang their hat on Ings hitting the goals to take the club through the qualifiers and Into the group stages never mind scoring against the cream of Europe?

Ings’ stats since joining West Ham in 2022 would suggest not.

  • Appearances: 69
  • Goals: 5
  • Assists: 0
  • Caps: 0

Celtic need better than a washed up overpaid striker who can’t get a game for the fourth-best team in London never mind the best team in Europe and that is why Hamann’s advice should be put right in the bin.
