Pictures from Ibrox show raging Rangers fans send a message after Philippe Clement bottles closing the gap to Celtic

Even with Celtic losing at Hibs and getting a helping hand from VAR, Rangers still lost their bottle against St Mirren.

Philippe Clement had the perfect opportunity to close the gap to Celtic after Brendan Rodgers’ side suffered their second defeat of the season at Easter Road.

VAR had a helping hand in Hibs beating Celtic but, in truth, the Bhoys let themselves down in the first half in the capital.

But today, even when Rangers got a helping hand from VAR, Clement still couldn’t get anything out of his players as they lost 2-0 to St Mirren at home.

The Rangers fans were furious and they were not shy in letting their gaffer know all about it.

But for now, Celtic fans have Aberdeen to look forward to on Tuesday night as Brendan Rodgers takes another step towards a magnificent treble.
