The Christmas period is really one to celebrate now for Celtic fans after St Mirren beat Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
Brendan Rodgers’ team took care of business this afternoon with a crushing 4-0 win over Motherwell to turn the pressure up on Philippe Clement ahead of their trip to Paisley.
With two away games before Rangers faves Celtic in the Ibrox Glasgow Derby, Clement could not afford any more setbacks in his pursuit of the Hoops for the Scottish Premiership title.
Unfortunately for the Belgian it didn’t all go to plan this Boxing Day as he fell further behind Celtic just outside of Glasgow.
Celtic fans scream red card after St Mirren opened the scoring vs Rangers
St Mirren opened the scoring with a penalty after Jack Butland poleaxed a St Mirren attacker just before halftime.
Have a watch of this:
Massive Jack Butland mistake 😬

Quite incredible how the referee and VAR never deemed that assault an ordering off.
But I’m sure Rangers will demand an independent inquiry on Monday for the sake of Scottish football.
St Mirren see if Rangers late as Celtic fans laugh away
As the minutes ticked down, it looked like Rangers were about to drop another two precious league points.
Not so said St Mirren as they did this in the dying minutes:
Caolan Boyd-Munce in added time! 🤯

An utter collapse by the Ibrox club and one that has Celtic fans howling and Rodgers with a comfortable 11 -point cushion at the top of the league table.
Merry Christmas everyone.
