The media meltdown over Celtic getting a positive result against Atalanta in the Champions League has been nothing short of spectacular.
And I do not mean positively. For a start, Tom English talking about Celtic’s draw with Atalanta made him have a pop at Brendan Rodgers for doing what everyone was telling him to do and making tweaks to his system for the away tie.
There is absolutely an anti-Celtic narrative surrounding the BBC’s coverage of the club but this time, it’s not them having a go.
This time it’s David Tanner who never fails to hide his bitterness whenever he talks about our club.
Tanner labels Champions League Atalanta as Europa League standard- Celtic fans respond
Tanner said on X, “A huge away point and a rare UCL shut-out for Celtic.
“For all the possession, Atalanta’s finishing was Europa League standard – when they did get through, Kasper Schmeichel was IMMENSE, esp. in a gruelling 1st half. On TV, a superb commentary debut by Joe Hart. Great insight.”

Like the BBC trying to say anything positive about Celtic in the Champions League,Tanner just couldn’t bring himself to say well.
To think Celtic got this result in Italy without the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers in the team just shows you how good this result is and just how much Auston Trusty is coming onto a game.
And the Celtic fans simply did not have it.
