Nobody does mediocre or embarrassing quite like Rangers and their fans do and the best part? Celtic fans love to remind them of it.

Rangers have been in Celtic’s shadow for the best part of this whole century as managers like Martin O’Neill, Neil Lennon, Ange Postecoglou, Gordon Strachan and Brendan Rodgers all wiped the floor of the Ibrox club.

With Philippe Clement having a full pre-season under his belt and bringing in his own players this summer, hopes were high amongst the Rangers fans (and the Scottish media) that the Ibrox club were going to mount a serious challenge to Celtic.

Celtic fans bookmarked Rangers’ St Johnstone celebrations

When Rangers beat St Johnstone 6-0 in the Premier Sports Cup, their players joined an almost empty Hampden to celebrate with Rangers fans as if they had won the trophy.

The video is still viral and has been viewed 3.9m times but now, after Rangers’ defeat to Kilmarnock, it has been dredged up as the Celtic fans roast the Rangers support for their embarrassing small-mindedness.

They really are a special breed of fan and it’s little wonder The Banter Years are well and truly alive this season.
