Celtic in the Champions League

Celtic fans tell David Tanner what they think about what he ‘just said’ about Champions League win

Once again David Tanner tries and fails to be gracious about Celtic when they have just pulled off an historic Champions League result.

The former Sky Sports man is famous for his bitter comments towards Celtic and it shows whenever he makes a comment about the club on social media.

Celtic produced a wonderful performance in the Champions League as they banished Slovan Bratislava 5-1 and Tanner tried, and failed, once again to be gracious about the win.

Taking to social media channel X, David Tanner posted this:

Tanner said, “I just said on talkSPORT that it was a slick, sparkling performance by Celtic!

“Their biggest group stage victory & a 1st win on MD1. Slovan are lowest-ranked in the tournament, but Celtic get a HUGE confidence boost for the campaign and Borussia Dortmund (a) next. Stunning!!⭐️”

Celtic fans’ Champions League message to Tanner

Tanner just had to put in the comment about Bratislava being the lowest-ranked team in the tournament. didn’t he?

He couldn’t help himself. I mean, let’s forget that this is UEFA’s flagship tournament and let’s also forget that his beloved team couldn’t get near it as well as they slum it in the Europa League next week.

And it was not lost on these Celtic fans as they sent Tanner a wee message about his dig at Celtic:

Tanner is ‘choking’ on the Celtic result:

It’s great to see some pain alive and well whenever Celtic do well in Europe and after last night’s performance, it’s going to be a long old season for Tanner and his ilk.

  1. In the coefficients used for seeding, Slovan are 28th, at the top of the pot 4 teams. Sturm Graz are 36th and therefore lowest ranked.

Let other Celtic fans know your thoughts on this all things to do with the Bhoys!
