The Rangers fans’ luck just continues to run out after they listen to why American millionaire, Scott Galloway’ explain why he and some of the ‘most wealthy’ Scots in the US didn’t buy their club.
I tell you what though, what they wouldn’t give to have these people on board now that the club are losing millions through the Ibrox shambles.
Galloway lives in Los Angeles and is worth about €40m. His career is explained here, but listening to his reasons on why avoided buying Rangers, the Celtic fans will be in stitches.
Galloway would be ‘the most hated person in the United Kingdom’
I mean this is just next-level karma for a fanbase who sings sectarian songs whilst beating out, ‘No one likes us, we don’t care’, isn’t it? Galloway shares what he was told by a ‘famous historian’ when he revealed his plan to buy Rangers and it will split the sides of the Celtic fans.
Galloway said [Diary of a CEO], “I got together the wealthiest, most famous Scottish people in the US, which is about 14 of us and said, ‘Let’s go buy Rangers’.
“Rangers FC is a publicly traded company, I had it all figured out, a £10m convertible notes and then a friend of mine who is a famous historian and Scottish is like, ‘You’d be the most hated person in the United Kingdom’.
“He was like, ‘They would hate you. You know nothing about football. You’d be some American idiot over there’.
“And I’m like, ‘Yeah, you’re right’. He’s like, ‘Just go to the Rangers games, what are you thinking?'”
That is just superb. 14 of the most wealthy Scots wouldn’t put their money where their mouth is because of the toxicity surrounding the club, the board and their largely sectarian supporter base.
Like I said, the karma here is just tremendous and the meltdown from the Ibrox hordes when this comes to light will just be tremendous.
