The Celtic fans have been enjoying the recent hilarity surrounding the Ibrox debacle over the last few weeks.
With Rangers embarrassing Scottish football with this whole sorry affair, instead of taking them to task the SFA and the SPFL have been shaming themselves by fawning over the Ibrox in moves that have angered the football supporter’s community.
And as recent Ibrox pictures this site have brought you have shown, it is going to be some time before the stadium is ready and the recent predictions of September seem a long way off.
That’s according to a report from the Daily Record.
Ibrox completion date edges closer to Celtic fixture
As talks continue with the SFA to rent the national stadium the report in the Record gives a date when the stadium should be completed this year.
The report says, “Rangers will hold further crisis talks this week about hiring Hampden for the ‘foreseeable future’ as fears grow they might be locked out of Ibrox until October at the earliest.
“An agreement is now close to being concluded and Bennett could make an official announcement next week as he rushes to keep the club’s supporters in the loop after dropping the bombshell news that their own ground will not be fit for purpose when the new season begins.
“But Bennett will almost certainly be unable to provide them with a concrete date for when the ongoing refurbishment work of the Copland Road stand will be completed.”
This shambles was brought to the fore when this site highlighted how the works could have been delayed with the Building Warrant issue.
We also warned that the New Year Glasgow Derby fixture could be impacted as the continued delays seem to be putting back the completion date.
With the proposal to rent Hampden for the ‘foreseeable future’ now being put forward, when will the Rangers fans wake up to the fact that the people running their club, like their stadium, seem ‘not fit for purpose’?
Hopefully, never!
