Celtic striker, Kyogo Furuhashi

‘You can’t be that thick surely’ – Aberdeen fan rinsed after going in two-footed on Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi

Kyogo Furuhashi has been a revelation at Celtic since Ange Postecoglou signed the Japanese star back in 2022.

73 goals in 133 appearances have helped secure Celtic’s status as the most dominant team in Scotland and Kyogo Furuhashi as the most deadly striker in the SPFL. (Transfermarkt)

Unfounded rumours linking Kyogo with a Celtic exit this summer circulated as the mainstream media pushed an agenda to get the Japan international moved out of the country.

Those rumours were quickly quashed and the Celtic fans started to breathe easy once again. However, it does not take away from the fact that Brendan Rodgers does still need to strengthen that area of the pitch and one name that has been floated is Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski.

Celtic fans roast Kyogo ‘overrated’ claim

Now Miovski is a good striker but to compare him in the same category as Kyogo is just nonsense. Like this Aberdeen fan has just done.

Now the £25m this report is going on about is from Football Insider. A publication that I don’t even touch unless it’s to rip apart any anti-Celtic garbage it churns out.

The fact that some hang onto their word is really astounding but for an Aberdeen fan to use it to take a pop at the Celtic striker is out of order and shows just how ignorant he is about the game.

And that was clearly pointed out by the Celtic fans:

This Celtic fan pointed out the obvious:

This Celtic fan pointed out the marked difference between both strikers:

And a simple stat about Kyogo’s goalscoring exploits at Celtic blows the guy’s argument out of the water:

And finally, this Celtic fan has come up with a transfer idea that could cause huge discussion amongst the fans:

I don’t think there is any Celtic fan who seriously believes we will get £25m for Kyogo. At 30, he is just about hitting his peak form so a sizeable transfer fee (if anyone was interested) could still be commanded.

But there is no sell-on value at his age so up to £15m is a reasonable price for a striker that has done it against Rangers, in Europe and on the international scene.

Let other Celtic fans know your thoughts on this all things to do with the Bhoys!
