Celtic fans all love ripping it out of the Scottish media’s pandering to Rangers, don’t we?
The succulent lamb brigade is never done trying to peddle out some feel-good p-sh about Ibrox, especially when Celtic are doing so well.
The latest nonsense to hit the headlines is about Jack Butland and his case to make the England squad for the Euros this summer.
Rangers’ best player this season (that tells you a lot about them) has been touted by the media as a possible England No1 for the tournament.
Now bear in mind he’s only been here a season and won a League Cup. However, he has also let in three goals against Ross County and Hearts and conceded eight to Celtic whilst not beating us at all this season.
But the Scottish media will have you believe he is England class. Until now.
Joe Hart and eight other SPFL goalkeepers are better than Butland
What? How can that be? How can SuperJack be bested by a league champion and seven other goalkeepers in Scotland when he is with the second-best team in the league?
I’ll let my good friend, Alan Morrison, of Celtic by Numbers do the explaining:
@StatsBomb has the deepest goalkeeping data amongst vendors

Butland is average in the context of the SPFL and indeed two English keepers are stronger over the league season – Will Dennis and (lol) some ol' lag called Hart

And you know what makes this even better? Rangers’ move for Liam Kelly is now being hailed as ‘stunning’ yet he is the worst-performing goalkeeper in the league!
You genuinely could not make this up. And after Gareth Southgate snubbed the Ibrox Number 1 today, the moon howling from the usual suspects is now taking place.
Let them howl, I say. Because this stat alone makes them look about as stupid as the Scottish media who couldn’t investigate a murder in a room with two occupants with one holding a knife and the other sitting with their throat slit.
