”That’s the reality” – Podcaster makes Celtic board claim after Green Brigade ban ends

The return of the Green Brigade to Celtic Park this afternoon will be a welcome one as Brendan Rodgers attempts to get his title charge back on track.

Banned for weeks, the absence of the fan group has been felt not only off the park, but on it as well.

After their statement midweek, it didn’t seem as though the Green Bridage were any closer to getting back into Paradise especially as we discussed on Born Celtic the boards true feelings on the group.

However, they are back in for today’s game against Livingston (much to the annoyance of Kris Boyd) and podcaster, Brian Degning, believes he knows the real reason why the Celtic board have taken until now to rescind the ban.

Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers

Degning said, “I think the slightly cynical bit would be the board till after after Europe because they were scared of UEFA’s fines. That’s the reality. It was like, ‘The atmosphere’s not that good, the Rangers game is coming up, let’s get them back.’

That aside, I’m happy that they’re back because I think that the Green Brigade or not everybody’s cup of tea but what you cannot deny is what they bring to the the atmosphere.” (A Celtic State of Mind)

There is little doubt that the Celtic board are keen to get the fan group in especially when the drop in atmosphere is so noticeable at Paradise.

The fans will be hoping that with the Green Brigade back in business, Brendan Rodgers will also have his team up for today’s game as there is no doubt that there is fight on for this title now.
