This weekend’s League Cup Final gives both Aberdeen and Rangers the chance to lift the first piece of silverware of the season.
For Rangers, it gives them the opportunity to lift the cup for the first time in their history and for Aberdeen the seventh.
However, The Dons may well not bother turning up as the Ibrox club already have the trophy in the bag.
That’s according to the guys that run the show there because, with five days to go to the final, Rangers have already started selling packages for supporters to have their photo taken with the trophy.
Packages start from as little as £6.50 and run from Monday onwards.
Celtic fans continue to laugh at Rangers
The Celtic fans immediately caught onto this gaffe and slated the Ibrox club for their stupidity.
One fan posted on X, “Absolute embarrassment of a club. The disrespect they show to the rest of the league clubs is a disgrace. They’re a rotten club.”
Another couldn’t believe the arrogance of the new club, “Of course they are as the directors of the Newco are just as arrogant as the directors of the Oldco.”
And another hammered home a truth that even the most hardened Rangers fan couldn’t disagree with, “Bizarre considering they have never won the trophy Aberdeen have won it 6 times but.”
One Celtic fan pointed to the club’s lack of finances for their premature Christmas sale, “The desperation to get money into that club is there for all to see.”
If I was Barry Robson, I would be pinning that on the proverbial dressing room wall.
Could you imagine the meltdown in Govan if the Pittodrie side win the cup? I would pay £6.50 to get my photo taken with it.
