I see you – Ange fires warning to Scottish hacks

Celtic Park

What a press conference that was yesterday by Ange Postecoglou.

In a week where Celtic have been lumped in with Rangers as apparent ’embarrassments’ to the Scottish game after being knocked out of the Champions League, the Celtic manager came out swinging after yet another pathetically poor press conference as the hacks tried their best to undermine the Celtic managers progress in Europe.

The first set of questions drew the ire of Postecoglou and his answer sent a warning to the Scottish press:

Ange has long known that the press had had a not so secret agenda against Celtic.

This week has allowed the manager to call it out for what it is.

The Scottish press cannot be seen to criticise the Ibrox club for their own European disaster without evening up the playing field by including our club in their criticism.

That’s why the fans don’t trust the press. They continually tried to bait Postecoglou in his first season at the club with their thinly veiled ‘you’re Australian, what do you know about football’ p*sh until he expertly ran rings around them.

Now? It’s about his tactics in Europe which have found to be effective against some of the best teams in the competition. Poor finishing has cost us. Not poor players or football.

We can thank the press for one thing though. You can be damned sure Ange will be using their criticism to fire up the players for the rest of the season and I think we will see a wounded animal bite back against Hibs this afternoon.
