I’ve heard it all now. I know I say this a lot but to be fair to me, I read a lot of s**te that is spoken about by this fanbase that just when you think you have heard it all, they come out with another belter.
And this one is just class.
Steven Gerrard‘s move to Aston Villa has caused some serious psychological damage to a section of their support and whilst some of them feel pain others feel a sense of entitlement that Gerrard should somehow ‘make it up’ to them.
And here is how he is going to do it.
In the Record Hotline, a caller Mick Gray made this brilliant claim, “After recent performances it’s clear to see why Stevie Gerrard signed John Lundstram.
“Rumours now that Gerrard is looking to buy him for Villa at £25m if stay up and it’s a way of apologising for leaving.“
Wow. So Gerrard is going to spend £25m of his new bosses money on a player who was not deemed worthy of a new contract by Sheffield United just to apologise to their fans?
Do I have that right? And Villa’s American owners are going to be ok with that?
Notwithstanding the fact he has had just two decent games all season, but yeah, there’s £25m for him.
