Former Grade 1 ref continues liquidation lie

On their way to Paradise

It’s bad enough that we need to suffer the Rangers fans constantly in a state of denial of the events of 2012.

Hell, even the media shamelessly backtrack on all those famous headlines as if they never existed.

So it comes as no surprise that former referees in Scotland also promote the non liquidation lie.

Craig Thomson was one of the SFA’s top whistlers and even he shamelessly ignored one of the biggest financial scandals in Scottish football.

Speaking of his experience refereeing the Glasgow Derby, “I handled one in May 2009, then the first game between the clubs the following season.

“I was supposed to do the next league game too and I spoke to Hugh Dallas about it.

“I just felt three in a row was too many, that you were always likely to be remembered for something in one of them.

“But there was a feeling in the SFA that there just wasn’t referees experienced enough to handle the game.

“I was eventually taken off the game and soon regretted it because Rangers were sent down the leagues and the game wasn’t on the league calendar for four seasons.”

Sent down the leagues. Really? Not liquidated?

Not a new club?

Not really a surprise though is it?
