It was hardly a claim was it? I mean all the pictures on social media and the fact that on live television, *Rangers fans were witnessed throwing objects onto the park and towards the Celtic team in full view of everyone and sundry.
That and the fact the Celtic physio was pictured with a huge gash on his head that required hospital treatment meant that those events actually happened. It wasn’t a figment of our imagination.
But the way BBC reporter Chris McLaughlin tweeted it, you would think it was:
The wording is unfortunate. Of course it is but it does seem to suggest that it is Celtic’s word against, well, the establishment club.
Clearly the physio was hurt. There was no doubt about it but rather than report it as fact, McLaughlin left the incident open to supposition and the Celtic fans were not happy with him:

They didn’t say it Chris it actually happened, what a disingenuous way to put it across, it’s as if you’re inferring that it didn’t happen. The usual smsm spin, when will the Fourth Estate in this country call out that club and it’s support? Surely the SFA must sanction them now
